"My grandmother's kitchen always smelled of freshly pressed sesame oil from the wooden ghani. When my daughter was born, I realised I couldn't find that purity anywhere. So I made it myself."
β Ravi Kumar, Founder of Devpure
Born from a
Grandmother's Kitchen
Devpure began not in a factory, but in a memory. Growing up in a small village in Tamil Nadu, our founder Ravi Kumar watched his grandmother press sesame oil every week in a centuries-old wooden ghani. The smell, the colour, the taste β it was unlike anything sold in stores today.
When refined oils flooded the market and "cold-pressed" became a marketing buzzword hiding high-heat processes, Ravi made a decision: he would bring back the real thing. Not as a hobby. As a mission.
In 2019, with a single wooden churner, a small workshop, and deep respect for tradition, Devpure was born. Today, we serve families across India who believe what they put in their bodies matters.
The First Press
Devpure launched with one wooden churner and a single product β sesame oil β sold door-to-door in Coimbatore.
Growing the Family
We added coconut, groundnut, and mustard oils, partnering with farmers in Kerala, Rajasthan, and Punjab.
A National Mission
Over 10,000 families now cook with Devpure oils. Our workshop still runs the same wooden ghani from day one.
Pure as Ever
We've grown, but our process hasn't changed. Every batch is still small, still slow, still pressed the traditional way.
